Earthquake measuring 6.4 jolts northeast Japan

A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 jolted northeast Japan on Sunday, public broadcaster NHK said. The quake, at 3:54 am (1854 GMT Saturday), was also felt in Tokyo.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued. (Reuters)
