Finance Minster Yuval Steinitz said Sunday that he respects the decision of Finance Ministry Director General Haim Shani to resign.
The minister noted that "we are attentive to the housing shortage crisis and the complaints over cost of living. We will give it some thought and see how we can relieve the situation. I, as the finance minister have the responsibility of preventing financial anarchy. We can't fall apart and neglect the economy and its principles." Yet he also stressed that "industrialists are not the enemy." (Ronen medzini)
