Gas price to remain unchanged due to tax break

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and National Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau decided to temporarily reduce the gas tax for the month of August by NIS 31 ($9), which means that the price of gas is to remain unchanged on Sunday night.
Due to widespread public protest, Landau pressed the Finance Ministry to reduce the tax, thus stunting the gas price hike. The final rate of the hike is yet to be released. (Tani Goldstein)
