The Tel Aviv District Court has pressed charges on Monday against Orly Abutbul, a security guard who waved a sign insulting immigrants from the former Soviet Union, and then shot a man who spilled water on her in response. She was charged with attempted aggravated battery.
According to the indictment, last Tuesday Abutbul stood at a Bat Yam intersection near a residential building and screamed obscenities for over an hour while waving a sign with "insulting slogans against immigrants from the former Soviet Union".

After an hour Sergei Danilovsky, a resident of the building, came outside with a bucket full of water which he poured on the defendant. He then turned to leave.
At that point the defendant took a loaded gun out of its holster and started chasing after Danilovsky. When she was just meters away she aimed the gun at him and fired four times. Danilovsky managed to escape into the building.
The prosecution representative Mia Bash sought to remand Abutbul until the completion of proceedings because "she is motivated by endless hate towards immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
"She came to a Bat Yam neighborhood with a loaded gun in an attempt to create a provocation. The defendant didn't hesitate to fire at the complainant, an immigrant from the former Soviet Union, four times. It is a miracle that the complainant wasn't hurt, didn't lose his life and that others weren't hurt in the incident."
The defendant admitted to the ascribed actions. The evidence against her includes a video that documented the events.
