PM: Beware of simplistic statements on defense budget cuts

At a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting on Monday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "We must beware of simplistic statements claiming that it is possible to make cuts to the defense budget. If Israel doesn't proceed responsibly in the financial context, we will find ourselves in the same situation as Greece and Spain."
"The correct way to deal with defending the home front is to establish a body within the Defense Ministry that will include a ministerial position. It isn't simple and there are legal difficulties, but from my point of view the home front needs to be part of the Defense Ministry," he added. (Moran Azulay)
