Marianne Faithfull returning to Israel

Legendary British singer to perform in Binyamina on October 18 as part of 'Horses and High Heels' tour

Legendary British singer Marianne Faithfull, who has already become a regular guest in Israel, will perform at the Shuni Amphitheater in Binyamina on October 18.

The upcoming concert is part of Faithfull's "Horses and High Heels" tour following her latest album released in March. Tickets are expected to cost NIS 220 (about $64).

Faithfull, 65, who recently recovered from breast cancer, was born in London. She began her musical career in the mid 1960s as a as a folk music performer in cafés, and is considered by many one of the only female singers to have maintained originality and innovation after her 1960s success.

Throughout the years, Faithfull released more than 20 albums while enjoying an impressive career as an actress in theater, television and film. In the 1960s she had a publicized romantic relationship with Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger.

During her last visit to Israel about three years ago, Faithfull said she still gets excited before every performance.

"It's very exciting that people still want to come and see me perform, because when I started singing I didn't think it would last this long," she noted. "I thought I would sing for two years and then go to the university."
