Turkey appoints new military commanders

Turkey is appointing new military commanders following the resignation of the top brass in a dispute with the government.

President Abdullah Gul was scheduled to approve the new appointments on Thursday, at the end of a key annual military meeting to discuss officers' promotions and dismissals. (AP)
