Erekat: UN bid meant to preserve two-state option
Fatah official Saeb Erekat said Thursday that the Palestinians' UN bid was not meant to cause conflict but preserve the two-state option based on Israeli withdrawal to the 1967 borders in the West Bank, as well as withdrawal from the Golan Heights and territories belonging to Lebanon.
Erekat made the statements following an Arab League announcement of support for the UN membership bid. (Elior Levy, Ynet's Palestinian affairs correspondent)
