A total of 19,802 new cars were sold in Israel in July, according to an Israel Vehicle Importers Association report.
Some 142,600 cars have been delivered since the beginning of the year – a 15.5% increase compared to the same period in 2010.
If the market maintains its current sales velocity, 2011 will end with an all-time high: 240,000 cars, about 20,000 more than in 2010.
The new market leader, Hyundai, delivered 3,087 new cars in the past month, widening its gap from Mazda, which delivered only 2,389 cars in July, and preceding Toyota (1,650), Chevrolet (1,281) and Kia (1,277).
Audi continued to lead the luxury market last month with 151 deliveries, followed by Mercedes (80) and BMW (71).
