Pope calls for peaceful coexistence in Syria
Pope Benedict XVI is urging Syrian authorities and citizens to return to peaceful coexistence.
The pope told pilgrims during his weekly Sunday blessing that he is watching with worry "the dramatic and increasing episodes of violence in Syria." The pope called on Syrian leaders to respond appropriately to what he said were "the legitimate aspirations of citizens." (AP)
