German air traffic controllers call strike

The union representing Germany's air traffic controllers has called for them to stage a six-hour walkout on Tuesday morning in a pay dispute.
The GdF union called for a walkout between 6 a.m. and noon (0400-1000 GMT), declaring that the latest offer from employers was unacceptable and there is "no alternative to a strike," the dapd news agency reported Monday. A similar walk-out was blocked by a court injunction last week. The national air traffic authority has not yet said whether it will try to block Tuesday's action. (AP)
