High Court rejects petition over Iron Dome deployment

None

The High Court of Justice on Monday rejected a petition submitted by the Eshkol Regional Council against the State where residents demanded that the State be forced to deploy the Iron Dome system in order to protect residences in the area.

The judges determined that the balance between the relevant considerations - the changing state of security, operational considerations, budgetary considerations and the principle of equality, the government's decision on the matter was reasonable. The judges also noted that due to budgetary constrictions, forcing the State to deploy the Iron Dome anti-rocket system in the area would lead to discrimination against other towns in the region.
