Palestinians to upgrade UN status to 'non-member state'

The Palestinian envoy to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, says there is a possibility the Palestinian Authority will succeed soon in upgrading its UN status from "observer" to "non-member state".
"Our goal is to achieve full membership with the UN, as did South Sudan," he said. "If this move fails we may achieve a status equal to that of the Holy See." (Elior Levy, Ynet's Palestinian affairs correspondent)
