Assad names new chief of staff

Syrian President Bashar Assad has named General Fahad Jassem al-Freej the new Chief of Staff of the Syrian army.
Al-Freej was the deputy chief of staff. He will succeed General Daoud Rajha, who was named defense minister earlier this week. (Roee Nahmias)
