The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OCI) has called on the Syrian government to halt its violent oppression of the popular uprising in the country immediately and launch a dialogue with all factions.
The Saudi-based OCI, founded in 2005, includes 57 Islamic and Arab countries. Some 2,100 people have been killed in Syria since the anti-government protests began in March. (AFP)
