Officials: Two bombs kill at least 34 in Iraq's Kut

A roadside bomb and a car bomb killed at least 34 people in Iraq's Kut city, police and local officials said on Monday.

The roadside bomb exploded in a public square in Kut, 150 kms (95 miles) southeast of Baghdad, and a car bomb detonated when security forces arrived on the scene, police said.

 

Khamis al-Saad, Iraq's deputy health minister, told Reuters 34 people were killed in Kut and 64 wounded (Reuters).
