PM's wife appeals to Yishai over 4-year-old's deportation

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife Sara has sent an urgent missive to Interior Minister Eli Yishai in which she requested that he prevent the deportation of a four year-old girl from the Philippines who was arrested with her mother, an illegal worker by the Immigration Department's Oz unit.
The Inter Minister's bureau confirmed that they received the missive. Foreign worker aid groups said that this was the first time that a child is being deported since the interior minister made the decision to postpone the deportation of foreign workers' children if they are registered in the Israeli education system. They claimed that this was a first step in deporting other children of the same legal status. (Attila Somfalvi and Omri Ephraim)
