Assad: Reforms to be based on people's will, not international pressure

Syrian President Bashar Assad said that all sectors of society should be involved in the reform process in the country, Syrian news agency SANA reported on Wednesday.
"The reforms will be implemented not because of international pressure – but because the Syrian people want them," Assad said during a Baath party convention. (AFP)
