Arab League backs Libyan rebels

Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby expressed "total solidarity" with the rebel government in Libya as fighting between the insurgents and soldiers loyal to Muammar Gaddafi raged across Tripoli.
Elaraby said in a statement he wishes "the council success in leading a new era and preserving Libya's regional integrity and its sovereignty and independence." (AFP)
