Hundreds of taxi drivers blocking traffic in TA
Hundreds of taxi drivers are driving slowly on Rothschild Blvd. in Tel Aviv, honking relentlessly to protest rising gas prices. The drivers plan on blocking the area of Hashmonaim junction and Habima theatre.
"We will shut down all cabs there. The minister of transport talked to us and said that he understands our plea, but claimed that the prime minister does not back him. That is why we are continuing our protest for the sake of our future. It is unreal that the gas tax used to be 15% and now stands at 40%. We won't let this continue," Chairman of the National Taxi Drivers Association Yehuda Bar-Or told Ynet (Aviel Magnezi).
