Palestinian report: China supports UN bid

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Thursday that the Chinese government has delivered a message to the General Secretary of the Palestinian Authority Tayeb Abdel Rahim expressing its full support in the Palestinian UN statehood bid.
According to the report, the Chinese envoy to the Middle East peace talks said that his government was always supportive of the Palestinian people's rights. He added that the decision to turn to the UN does not contradict the peace process which should bring about the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in the 1967 border lines and east Jerusalem as its capital (Elior Levy).
