Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called upon the Damascus regime to engage in dialogue with the Syrian people in order to reach an understanding about the political reforms in the country, reported Lebanese Al-Manar television.
"The people and government of Syria must come together to reach an understanding," he told the Al-Manar station, run by the Iranian and Syrian-backed Hezbollah movement. "One must not kill the other, because killing, whichever side is responsible, serves Zionist interests." (Roee Nahmias)
