Defense Minister: Israel will allow Egypt to deploy troops in Sinai

In an interview with the Economist magazine, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that Israel would allow Egypt to deploy thousands of troops in Sinai contrary to the peace agreement.
"They had helicopters and armored vehicles but they never had tanks other than one regiment stationed there. Sometimes you need to subordinate strategic considerations to tactical needs," Barak said. (Ynet)
