Hundreds of Arabs and Jews protested near the Wadi Ara region on Saturday against the expansion of the ultra-Orthodox city Harish. The participants carried posters saying: "Don't bring the haredim here," and "No to occupation of lands."
In July Interior Minister Eli Yishai approved a new construction plan for the city Harish, which is to be built in the Wadi Ara region. Some 8,800 new housing units, employment centers, public buildings and educational institutions are to be built as part of the plan, to fulfill the needs of the ultra-Orthodox population.
