Barak tells Ashton Palestinian UN bid nonproductive

Defense Minister Ehud Barak told European Union Foreign Affairs chief Catherine Ashton that Israel is determined to punish "those who try to carry out terror acts against us, both via the border and from the Gaza Strip."
Addressing the Palestinian statehood bid, Barak said that the plan was non-productive. "There is a better way and that is to enter into negotiations without preconditions," he said. (Hanan Greenberg)
