A Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip exploded in an open area near the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council on Sunday. No injuries or damage were reported.

On Thursday morning, a Grad rocket exploded in the Bnei Shimon Regional Council, not far from Beersheba. There were no injuries or damage.

The al-Tawhid wal-Jihad group, a radical, Gaza-based jihadist group affiliated with al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the fire.

On Thursday night, the Islamic Jihad announced the Palestinian factions have agreed on a new ceasefire. Recent days have nonetheless seen several rockets fired at southern communities.
