EU set to relax Libya sanctions

None

An EU official said Wednesday that a working group had given the green light for the delisting. Member states will approve the decision "very soon," said the official who spoke on condition of anonymity under standing EU rules.

The EU imposed sanctions against the ports and other companies in Libya, as well as asset freezes and travel bans on 39 people involved in human rights abuses.  The EU has vowed support for a democratic Libya, pledging it would help with reconstruction. (AP)
