PLO official vows to keep pushing for statehood even if US vetoes bid

Senior Palestine Liberation Organization official Saleh Rafat said Thursday that the Palestinians are determined to appeal to the United Nations in September.
According to Rafat, "even if the United States vetoes our plan, we will return and submit a list of propositions to the UN in order to ensure our right to establish an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 lines, with Jerusalem as its capital." (Elior Levy)
