Canada lifts sanctions against Libya

Canada has lifted its economic sanctions on Libya now that the Gadhafi regime no longer holds power.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Thursday that Canada is repealing economic sanctions it imposed in February in support of the Libyan people and the rebel-led National Transitional Council.
The sanctions being lifted Thursday restricted Canadians from dealing with the Libyan government. (AP)
