China says opposed to any US arms sales to Taiwan

China's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that it was "resolutely opposed" to any USarms sales to Taiwan, as the Obama administration's October decision on a weapons deal for the self-ruled island draws near.

The United States must "fully understand the harmfulness and sensitivity" of weapons sales to Taiwan, ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told reporters at a regular news briefing. (Reuters)
