Sinai Bedouins to join Egypt's police

An Egyptian Interior Ministry official says the ministry is changing a rule that had kept most Sinai Bedouins from joining the police force.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters, added the ministry is for the first time setting a quota for Bedouins from the Sinai Peninsula to enter the Police Academy. He did not say what the quota was. (AP)
