A State Department official says a US arms expert and several private weapons disposal contractors are working with Libyan officials to hunt for sensitive mobile anti-aircraft systems amid reports that massive arms caches in Tripoli were looted after the ouster of the Gaddafi regime.
State spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Thursday that reports of unguarded and emptied weapons depots in Tripoli were "concerning." The Associated Press and other news media reported that crates of Russian-built anti-aircraft missiles and other munitions have been looted. (AP)
