Israel’s ambassador, family leave Cairo

Israel's ambassador to Egypt left Cairo on Saturday, Egyptian state television and Al-Arabiya satellite channel said, following a day of violence by angry Egyptians that included attempts to storm the Israeli embassy.
State media earlier reported that an Israeli plane arrived in Cairo to take the ambassador, his family and staff back to Israel. (Reuters)
