An IDF force patrolling the Israel-Egypt border on Sunday night reported hearing shots fired from the Egyptian side of the border at the southern Kibbutz of Netafim. No injuries or damage were reported.
Initial investigation revealed that the shots were directed at the troops, but it is unclear at this time who the perpetrators are.

The gunman, or gunmen fled the scene and the troops did not return fire.
Following the incident, and as a precautionary measure, security forces closed Eilat's airspace for several minutes.
IDF forces in southern Israel have been on high alert for several weeks, after an Islamic Jihad terror cell infiltrated the border in mid August and launched a series of deadly terror attacks which claimed the lives of eight Israelis and left dozens of others wounded.
