Riverdance. First Israel tour
Irish dancing phenomenon Riverdance sparked a row in Ireland recently over its first-ever Israel
tour this month.
Since learning of the group's planned performances in the Jewish state in early August, pro-Palestinian activists have been holding loud protests on Dublin's main street on a daily basis.
The demonstrators, affiliated with the Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC), have been hold signs and chanted, "Don't dance for the Israeli apartheid state."
The dance company's set decorator refused to join the Israel tour, saying he supports the cultural boycott on Israel.
