Ahmadinejad: 2 US 'spies' to be released

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the Islamic Republic is to release the American travelers convicted of espionage within two days.

Ahmadinejad made the statement in an interview with the NBC television network. The US citizens, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, were sentenced to eight years in prison for espionage and entering Iran illegally. They were arrested in July 2009 after crossing the border with Iraq. (Dudi Cohen)
