Arab sector to hold strike in memory of Oct. 2000 riots

The Arab members of Knesset and the High Follow-Up Committee for the Arab Citizens of Israel  have announced that a general strike is to take place in the Arab sector on October 1 to commemorate the October 2000 riots, during which 13 youths were killed by the police.

In addition to the strike, the committee is planning to hold a rally on the same day. The location of the rally is yet to be decided upon. Moreover, a demonstration is also scheduled to be held at the town of Jaljulya. (Hassan Shaalan)
