Sarah Silverman: Call me Jew

While promoting new film in Toronto, American comedian asked what she would consider changing about her appearance in order to get a response from fashionistas. 'I could put a swastika on my forehead,' she responds

Sarah Silverman is currently in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival to promote Sarah Polley’s new film, “Take This Waltz." Prior to the press conference on Sunday afternoon, a group of photographers were screaming out the American comedian's name to which she responded, “Call me Jew.”

Co-star Seth Rogen added, “I also respond to Jew,” before breaking into roaring laughter.

“Take This Waltz” is a romantic drama, written and directed by Torontonian (and soon to be mom) Sarah Polley. The film follows a married woman that is considering pursuing an affair with her neighbor.

Sarah Silverman portrays Seth Rogen’s alcoholic sister. In a scene when she has fallen off the wagon, she randomly drops a box of baby chicks into her husband’s arms. The film also stars Seth Rogen, Michelle Williams, and Luke Kirby.

“Take This Waltz” also features Sarah Silverman’s first nude scene. The press asked her how she prepared for the experience.

“I gained about 28 pounds. I wanted to be lumpier… I wanted to have the posture of a lady caveman, so I’m really happy how it came out.”

Just before the conclusion of the press conference, a rep from L’Oreal asked all of the actors for beauty tips. Silverman was asked what she would consider changing about her appearance in order to get a response from fashionistas.

“I could put a swastika on my forehead,” she responded.

“Take This Waltz” was filmed in Toronto, and is set to be released in late 2011.
