Hadash Chairman MK Mohammad Barakeh arrived at Tel Aviv's Magistrate's Court for his hearing to discuss accusations he had assaulted police officers, insulted them and disturbed a public servant on four different occasions.
"I represent tens of thousands of voters. The prosecution cannot operate under the political agenda of the government in order to avenge me politically… This is a political trial. I'm being prosecuted because I'm Arab and a leftist," he said. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
