Abbas expects 'difficult situation' after UN Bid

Speaking to reporters on his flight to New York, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that he anticipated a "difficult situation" to develop after the PA submits its application for UN membership on September 23.
Abbas also called on Israel to "recognize a Palestinian state" and not "pass up the opportunity for peace." (AFP)
