Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is backing the push for Palestinian statehood, saying the Palestinian people have a right to a sovereign country.
Chavez says in a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN General Assembly that recognizing a Palestinian state would be "an act of historic justice." (AP)
