Brazil's President: Palestine to meet Israel's desire for peace

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said in her UN General Assembly address that "Only a free and sovereign Palestine will meet the legitimate desires of Israel for peace, security within its borders, and political stability in its region," she said.

Brazil is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and has already announced that it intends to vote in favor of the recognition of a Palestinian state. (Yitzhak Benhorin, New York)
