President Shimon Peres commented Thursday on the speeches heard in the 66th UN General Assembly and the Palestinian bid for statehood and said that "the composition of the UN bodies does not allow for a balanced decision.
"The UN cannot guarantee Israel's safety and cannot create the foundation needed for Palestinian independence. This is why we must pursue direct negotiations. (Ronen Medzini)
