Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the United Nations General Assembly after handing a request for full membership, saying, “It’s time for our sons to live a normal life; so students can go to school without checkpoints, patients can reach hospitals and farmers can tend to their field without fearing that the occupation will steal their water and lands.
“The settlers build their homes on Palestinian lands and uproot our olive trees. The loss of hope is peace’s worst enemy,” he said. (Ynet)
