Turkish oil research ship sails for Mediterranean
A Turkish ship set sail for the Mediterranean on Friday to start oil and gas exploration off the ethnic Turkish northern half of Cyprus.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey would only give up the search if Greek Cypriots did the same.
"the most important thing for us now is to preserve the reunification process in a healthy way," the state-run Anatolia news agency quoted Erdogan as saying. The Turkish research ship, the Piri Reis, left the port of Urla, on Turkey's Aegean coast. (AP)
