Abbas: We want to achieve rights through peace, not violence

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told crowds that welcomed him in front of the government headquarters in Ramallah that "We have made it clear to everyone that we want to achieve our rights through means of peace and not violence."

He reiterated that he will not resume negotiations with Israel if settlement construction is not stopped. "We are staying, and we will stay on this land," he said. (Elior Levy, Ramallah)
