UNSC deliberates over Palestinian recognition request

The UN Security Council has begun its deliberations into the Palestinian request for recognition as a UN member state. The deliberations are being held in a closed meeting. The Palestinian observer to the UN Riyad Mansour told reporters: "We hope the process will end within a few weeks and no longer." (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
