Accused Serb war criminal loses Australia extradition appeal

A former Serb commander accused of war crimes in the Balkans lost a bid on Friday to block his extradition from Australia to Croatia, when an Australian court threw out his appeal.

Dragan Vasiljkovic, 56, an Australian who also has Serbian citizenship, has been fighting against extradition since he was arrested by police in 2006 over offences allegedly committed during the conflict in the former Yugoslavia. At the time of his arrest he was working as a golf instructor in the city of Perth. (Reuters)
