Europe seeks Russian support against Syria

European nations have circulated a new draft resolution on Syria that adds an appeal to all sides to reject violence and extremism in a bid to win Russian support.
The new proposal, obtained Friday by The Associated Press, still threatens to impose "targeted measures" - which can include sanctions - against President Bashar Assad's government. But it drops the words "including sanctions" which were in the previous draft. (AP)
