IDF targets Gaza terror cell; 3 injured

IAF jets strike three-man cell gearing to fire rockets at Israel. Cell believed to be Hamas-affiliated

Israel Air Force jets targeted a Gaza terror cell gearing to fire rockets at Israel, injuring three Palestinians believed to be the terror cell's members.

 

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed Saturday that a preemptive strike against a terror cell had taken place.

Eyewitnesses said that the incident took place in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun, adding that one missile was fired at the cell, believed to be affiliated with Hamas.

 

Palestinian sources in Gaza said that three terrorists were injured.

 

Adham Abu Salamia, spokesman for Gaza's emergency services said that one man was seriously injured. He did not elaborate on the condition of the others.

 

The IAF last targeted a Gaza tunnel on Thursday, following rocket fire at the western Negev.

 

The IDF added that the cell targeted was responsible for Thursday's rocket fire. The cell is believed to have been involved in various incidents of rocket fire over the past few weeks.

 

The military stressed the it holds Hamas responsible for any rocket fire on Israel.
